INSTRUCTORS STEVAN STANISIC AND MILA APPERLO

Fifth generation Master Stained Glass Artisan Stevan’s stained glass and mosaic work enliven and adorn public and private buildings across the globe. Stanisic’s family began creating works of art in glass in 1908 specializing in fabrication and restoration services for art glass and mosaics.

With over 100 years of family experience creating glass masterworks behind him, Stevan remains just as passionate as his great grandparents about the art. Through classes in stained glass and mosaics he and his wife Mila hope to pass their treasure trove of knowledge and skill on to willing students.

Mosaics Tonight! - One Night Event

April 11, 2017 & May 9, 2017

Cost: $65 5:30 - 8:30pm includes all materials, wine, food & guidance

Here’s your chance to create a beautiful Mosaic artwork in one night! After enjoying a light dinner and wine, choose from beautiful images provided or create your own. The fun begins as you select gorgeous glass pieces and learn the ancient Mosaic technique that will bring your image to life! A great experience of fun and creativity for friends and family to share, and you go home with your own Mosaic masterpiece!

CLASS DESCRIPTION

Mosaics Quick and Easy

In this beginning level class students will create one project of their own design using vitreous glass tiles. The project will use the direct application method on an “pre-cut” polyester base. Participants will learn basic glass cutting skills and glass laying techniques. Each student will have the opportunity to choose from one of the pre-made templates or create their own to create a unique patterns and colors.

This is a great class to learn the basics of the direct method of doing mosaic art.

Stained Glass

Learn the traditional art of stained glass in this entertaining and rewarding class. Build your very own stained glass piece, learn how to cut and shape glass then assemble your art piece in the copper foil and solder technique.

You will select your project from the patterns included in the course textbook.

Advanced Stained Glass Window Fabrication

This class is for experienced artisan only who is ready, willing and able to take on a major window project. If you have been thinking about creating an entry door panel or an entire entryway ensemble (door, sidelights, transom), a stairway or landing panel, or perhaps a small window for your church, synagogue or place of worship. Your first session will be a private consultation with the instructor to discuss your project idea for size, design, and fabrication style. You may also discuss installation style and issues. You should plan on spending a minimum of 3 hours for this consultation session. Additional class sessions will be booked with the instructor/studio as needed by the student. Students should be prepared to work at home or book additional studio time between class sessions in order to complete more ambitious projects.
